Having twouble with Twitters?
26Mar09
Are you still having twouble with Twitters or looking for a good laugh? If your answer was “yes” to either of these questions, or both, then check out this “Super News!” video, “Twouble with Twitters”.
(Note: despite the hilarity of this video, I am still a strong supporter of Twitter and so are the over 7 million Twitter users. In fact, I just tweeted about this video. I hope I don’t end up like Craig…)
What do you think about this video? Do you think that there is any truth to it? Are you still going to use Twitter?

I saw this video when I was scoping out Wolfstar for my previous post. I found it to be accurate (with some sensationalism) toward the beginning but after the “disconnected” part the video seemed to… well… be a bit much. But I guess the point was to polk fun at how desperate we are to be connected with people at all times; and thanks to Twitter, it’s possible! It’s kind of scary that Twitter is becoming increasingly popular in the work place, Kelsey’s blog brought that to light when she discussed a surgeon that was tweeting during surgery. I’m pretty sure the person on the table would not appreciate the tweet and the followers don’t need to know that bad. Wait until the big event is over to tweet, it’s OKAY, I promise!
Great addition to your blog LeiLani!
Hahaha. Let me tell you the truth, I saw this video a few days ago on your twitter page, LeilLani. Ironic! As you all know, I am a supporter of Twitter, especially for corporate communications, but this video addresses those who are obsessed with Twitter and use it the wrong way. For example, at the beginning the Craig writes, “Just got to work” and immediately after tweets, “Sitting in my chair now”. Although Twitter’s question is “What are you doing”, sometimes we don’t care exactly what you are doing each second. We all have friends like Craig who dominate the first page of recent tweets. For example, there are those people who tell me that they are getting a latte, that is great, but that post really has no interest to me unless I am looking for that person. Then there are those Twitter users who say they are getting a latte and want someone to come join them, or tell me that Starbucks is having a half-off day. That is information from Twitter that I can use.
See minute 3:55 of this video for more information on that idea, called “Yogurt and Informational Yogurt”
Wow, what a funny video. I think that the bird in the beginning makes a good point about how people Twittering are talking to nobody and everybody at the same time. While most people do not care what you are doing, many users believe that their lives are fascinating enough for people to care.
This was obviously a satirical look at how popular Twitter has become over the last few months, but it raises a good point. Our society is always so fixated on the latest craze that we often get wrapped up and excessively use it. The Twitter craze reminds me of how YouTube or Google became big a few years ago. I believe that it is only a matter of time before Twitter is old news and a new brainless fad sweeps our nation.
